Can Pomegranate Increase Lifespan?

Often biologists and scientists study lower organisms to find out how environmental factors affect the biological systems and behavior. In a new study on the worm, scientists wanted to see if pomegranate can alter biological systems including aging and lifespan.

"In this study, worms were used to "test if pomegranate would change longevity, growth, and fertility. During the study, the researchers found that all three were positively affected but only at lower doses of pomegranate extract. The researcher's concluded that at certain dosages pomegranate may prove useful as a supplement for humans. Although dosage must be accounted for to avoid adverse reactions. " (Kılıçgün)
