Researchers Have Come Up With A Drug Cocktail That Lengthens Lifespan!

"A team of researchers led by Principal Investigator Dr. Jan Gruber from Yale-NUS College has discovered a combination of pharmaceutical drugs that not only increases healthy lifespan in the microscopic worm Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), but also delays the rate of ageing in them, a finding that could someday mean longer, healthier lives for humans. " Read more....

Researchers Have Found Chemical In Fruits And Vegetables Slows Aging!

" Previous research published earlier this year in Nature Medicine involving University of Minnesota Medical School faculty Paul D. Robbins and Laura J. Niedernhofer and Mayo Clinic investigators James L. Kirkland and Tamara Tchkonia, showed it was possible to reduce the burden of damaged cells, termed senescent cells, and extend lifespan and improve health, even when treatment was initiated late in life. They now have shown that treatment of aged mice with the natural product Fisetin, found in many fruits and vegetables, also has significant positive effects on health and lifespan." Read more...

Whole-grain Foods Offer More Nutrients than Fiber!

"Whole-grain foods offer nutritional benefits beyond just the fiber from the outer layer. The nutrients and compounds from all parts of the grain offer a wide range of cardiovascular benefits and have been linked to longer life."

Can Pomegranate Increase Lifespan?

Often biologists and scientists study lower organisms to find out how environmental factors affect the biological systems and behavior. In a new study on the worm, scientists wanted to see if pomegranate can alter biological systems including aging and lifespan.

"In this study, worms were used to "test if pomegranate would change longevity, growth, and fertility. During the study, the researchers found that all three were positively affected but only at lower doses of pomegranate extract. The researcher's concluded that at certain dosages pomegranate may prove useful as a supplement for humans. Although dosage must be accounted for to avoid adverse reactions. " (Kılıçgün)

Eat Broccoli - Live Longer!

I say this all the time....
The world’s longest-lived rodents don’t eat broccoli, but they have the protection of a protein that, in humans, is activated by consumption of steamed broccoli, according to a new study from the Health Science Center.
