Endometriosis And Oral Contraceptives Linked To Asthma!

The evidence linking sex hormones and asthma continues to grow, thanks to research funded by a grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute for Joe Zein, MD, staff in the Respiratory Institute. His latest research, presented at the 2018 American Thoracic Society International Conference, shows that oral contraceptive use and endometriosis are associated with a higher risk of lifetime asthma in women of reproductive age. Read more...

Women With Endometriosis at Higher Risk for Heart Disease


 
Women with endometriosis—the growth of uterine tissue outside the uterus—tend to focus their concerns on health problems such as debilitating pelvic pain and infertility. But new research suggests that women with the condition may also face another more deadly health threat: heart disease.
